Manager (Coach) Requirements

All managers must have the following:

-       DBS certificate issued via our club

-       First aid qualification

-       Safeguarding certification

All managers and coaches should also have:

-       Level 1 Coaching Qualification (the club will pay for this)

-       Enthusiasm

-       Strong desire to help out (ok, that was not really required, more a club desire 😊)

Equipment

The club will provide each team with training and match balls and training bibs.

Other equipment will be provided if the club can afford it.

The club purchases a club license to SportPlan which is an online website for training plans and sessions. Each manager and coach can access this. For more information, please ask Andy. Andy can be contacted by emailing andy@ecyfc.co.uk

Team Registrations

All team registrations to any league must go via Annette, the club secretary. Annette can be contacted by emailing ecfcclubsecretary@gmail.com

Player Registrations

The club uses a system called Commentary Box (CB) to register and bill players. CB can also be used to organise and notify parents of matches and training sessions (and quite a lot more).

The club requires every manager to register all their players on CB. This allows the club to bill players, but it also allows us to collect contact information and health information that may be needed in the event of an emergency.

Each manager and team admin will have been granted admin rights to their team on CB. For any issues with accessing parts of CB, please contact Andy.

All players must also be registered on WholeGame (WGS). This is an FA system that is now used by all leagues.

For teams playing in the SPL or NEHYL, WGS is used for teams, players and fixtures.

For teams that play in the EBFA, the team and players will also need to be registered with gotFootball. This is the system used by the EBFA and must be used in addition to WGS. Players must be added to the team's gotFootball page. Each player needs to be assigned a shirt number that matches their actual shirt because this will be present on the game card used for the match. Every season, each player must have a parental agreement form completed to ensure that each parent/guardian accepts the league's rules. When a player is added to gotFootball, their parents/guardians will receive log in credentials which should be used to complete the agreement form. Instructions on how to complete the agreement form can be found here.

Therefore, for a new player, they must be registered with CB and WGS, and gotFootball for those teams playing in the EBFA.

For issues related to WGS and gotFootball, please contact Annette. For issues with CB and gotFootball, please contact Andy.

Fixtures

Lisa (fixtures secretary) will send out the fixtures for a weekend on the previous Sunday. This list will include kick-off times and pitch allocation but will not contains details of the referees.

Sometime in the week, Lisa will send out an update to the fixtures that shall include referee allocations (usually by Thursday). Sorting referees is not easy and quite often takes several days, hence the delay in updating the fixtures with referee allocations.

For teams that play in the EBFA, you will need to send the referee’s details (name and EBFA number) to the visiting team manager. This can be done before the match following Lisa’s midweek update or it can be done on the match day or after the match, as long as the visiting manager has the information before they fill in the match report form.

Lisa can be contacted by emailing ecfcfixtures@gmail.com

League Contacts

Generally, all league communications should go via our club secretary, Annette. However, the EBFA is such a large league that your section will have a divisional secretary. They are responsible for managing and maintaining the fixtures on gotFootball. At the start of each season, the div secs will contact you to say who they are and give you their contact details. Any league questions can then be sent to them.

When contacting anyone in a league position, please always be polite and make sure you give as much information about you and your team as possible, for example, team name, age group, division etc.

Manager Actions

Home managers (or team admins acting on their behalf) are responsible for liaising with visiting team managers to convey information related to their fixtures.

Managers are also responsible for providing their league with the scores from their matches.

The club has a template for fixture information that can be used to convey match details (kick off time and pitch number) as well as travel details and the emergency action plan.
